Pilates Barrel
An economical starter Barrel for small studios or home exercisers, the Spine Corrector, with its slanted platform and wooden handgrips, can be used to perform a wide variety of exercises to lengthen and strengthen the torso, back, shoulders and legs.
Modify exercises to increase or decrease challenge with the Arc Barrel or Arc Barrel Deluxe. Ideal for rehab and to assist with matwork exercises, the Barrels gentle curve helps decompress and lengthen the spine.
Proffesional grade addition to any elite pilates studio. Designed for core conditioning and to increase flexibility, the Ladder Barrel challenges core stability and strength for everyone from beginners to the fully conditioned.
2. The spine corrector
The spine corrector is made up a barrel/semi-circular arch with a step added to one end. They are used to support and correct the curves or yoru spine while you strengthen your core. They are smaller and less expensive than the Ladder Barrel. They also have handles on either end to aid with stability and increase the repertoire of exercises available. They are an ideal stepping stone between the Baby arc and the Ladder Barrel.
3. Pilates Baby Arc
The smallest and most portable of the three. The Baby Arc is simply an arch that helps support the spine and has its own unique set of exercises. It can be easily added to your current home mat routine with little extra cost. Many have reported relief from back pain and tightness by simply lying on their back over the barrel! As with adding any new piece of equipment to your home program, also seek the guidance of a qualified Pilates instructor before attempting the exercises on your own.
1. Pilates Ladder Barrel
This piece of equipment, as the name suggests, consists of a Barrel, and a ladder, separated by an adjustable length base (to accommodate for different levels of exercises and heights of users). They are a more expensive piece of Pilate’s equipment, and are mostly found in professional studios. If you have progressed to an advanced level of Pilates with your current program, or have been using the ladder Barrel in the studio, there’s no reason why you can’t add this to your home program to give it that professional feel.
